The Pooka Bunny

My mom, a couple of Aunties and I went to Old Navy for their great sale this weekend. Pooka, of course, was an angel. My mom found a snow hat that had the gloves attached right on the crown of the head and when she showed it to Pooks, the child insisted she had to get out of her stroller so she could hop. "I need to HOP!" It took us a few moments to realize she thought the gloves were bunny ears!

Cheers to old navy bunny ears.

Idaho Pics

No... we didn't go to Idaho again. These are the pictures Amber took four months ago when we were there in August. I said I would get them posted later, and well... now is later...

It was a long squished car ride that we all tried to sleep through

But when we got there, we did nothing but play

Smelling Grandma's flowers

A 4 Generation photo!

Taking a much deserved break

This is one of the best pictures of Pooks and Mama ever. It just makes me happy.

Ivy LOVES to feed the horses at Grandma Wilson's Far Far Away garden.

She is shy...
So she needed a little help from Mama. But the horses loved her too.

I WANT ONE! A Quilt Contest

They are beautiful, aren't they? The Old Red Barn Company is giving them away to three very happy winners. I hope to be one of them, and this post increases my chances by 5x. Check out the site here and if you want to be entered in the drawing, hurry up, cuz times running out! The site has all the info about who made the quilts and what materials were used. They are just beautiful!

Work Stinks

This was my first week back as a member of the work force, and to be 100% honest, it stinks. Not the job, but just the fact that I have a job. I guess I've just gotten too soft.

But I am grateful to have the chance to work at all, with so many people unable to find anything that doesn't involve french fries. That's why my Daddy is so awesome. Its a relatively simple job, and he's willing to let me set my schedule. How many people can say that about their bosses?

Things are tight, as usual, but this will help give our family the things we need. So even though it stinks to work, and I would much rather be with Pooka, I'm still glad to have it.

Kid's Music

As the Potty Song shows, Ivy is addicted to music. Truly. One of her favorite things to do is to sit on Mama's lap and listen to/watch youtube videos for children. And there is a grip of videos out there for kids. Her absolute favorite right now is a song by Eric Herman called A Pirate Story. This guy has a lot of different songs, and his wife and little girl work together on the videos. This is my favorite too...

Ivy's Favorites from youtube:
The Elephant Song
My Lucky Day(Super cute)
Dance Like an Animal
Snow Day(Ivy's 2nd favorite)
Green Anaconda
The Iguana Song

The Potty Song

I have the most hilarious daughter in the world. Anyone who has ever spent more than 5 min with Pooka knows that she has a song for every occasion - literally. If she doesn't know a song, she makes one up. A few days ago during her "quiet/nap time" she just sang to her friends (aka dolls) about how her auntie Meggie and auntie Ambie were going to play with her. Yesterday, she took it all to a whole new level.
She was sitting on the potty trying to do her business when, as every 2 year old is, she was distracted by a hot roller that was sitting on the counter. So what did she do? Well, just what Pooka does. She made up a song and started to sing it into that roller like a microphone. And what was the song? I can give you the lyrics, but she just sings a random tune:

"I love to go potty.
I love to get the poo poo out my tummy.
Pee pee comes out my tummy too!
It goes in the potty bye bye!"

Just imagine her sitting on the toilet singing this at the top of her lungs, over and over again.
Priceless.

It Begins!

DUH DUH DUHHHH!

Potty training has begun at the Bowler Household. As was foretold by my very smart sister in laws, Ivy just declared yesterday that she didn't want to wear diapers anymore. She was so excited last night when she used the potty for the first time, and even more so when I helped her call her Grandma and a couple of Aunties to spread the news. All I can say is...

HELP!!!!!

Now what do I do? Do I put her in pull ups? Panties? Do I take her to the potty every two hours? What about rewards? Please, I am so lost here. HELP!
