Pooka's Hat Obsession

I just thought she looked so stinkin' cute in this. She grabbed it from me and said "hat" so I had to tie it on her head. She LOVES hats...and shoes and purses too. Oye! Are we in trouble! But the stinker, for the first time in her existence (pre-existance too, I'm sure) didn't want me to take her picture. Finally she relented and gave me the greatest smile!

A sad Finger

Pooka had the greatest time at her cousin Justin's birthday party on Friday. It was at a big park with two sets of jungle gyms, one for the little kids and one for the bigger little kids. She was so excited that she got to actually choose where to play that she was just running back and forth between the two every other minute. Of course, being my daughter (I'm severely accident prone) she tripped and landed right on her face. These are her battle wounds. :( But Pooka being Pooka, she was up and running around within five minutes. Nothing keeps this child down. On Saturday morning after I put her band-aid on her chin she showed me her (magic) finger and told me "finger owie" and I looked and it was just fine. But she persisted that "finger owie" until I put a band-aid on her perfectly healthy finger. After that she sighed and told me matter of factly, "finger band-aid, finger owie, finger sad." And then she walked off resignedly to face her fate of a sad finger. I just about died from laughter.

Pookasso

On Saturday, I was rushing all over the house trying to get things done before I had to get over to my Mom's house. So I just let Ivy do her thing. I should have known I was in trouble when she was so quiet. I guess she had a flare of artistic inspiration, because she just drew everywhere!

The scary guy with long ears.

The Easter Bunny came to the place where daddy works and Pooka was none to pleased to pose with this big scary white beast. She heard daddy's voice coming from somewhere but she could not see him anywhere. The bunny decided to invite mama and pooks to a back office where he took of his mask and revealed himself to be daddy. She still wasn't too sure!

What a Hard Life

Today Pooka was a busy busy little bee. While I was at school, Grandma took her shopping. They got groceries and a color book, but there were no crayons there that were ok for Pooka to have. But Grandma had promised her some crayons, so grandmas being grandmas, she went to Michaels just to get her Pooka some crayons. Then they went back to Grandma's house and Pookie was supposed to be sleeping, but instead she held a very lively conversation with her dolls. She jabbered and jabbered, and sang a little too, then started to call for Grandma to come get her. "G'ma? G'ma? G'ma! G'MA!" So Grandma took her outside to play in the dirt, her absolute favorite thing to do. They played and played for over an hour, and by that time, Pooka was so covered in dirt that she had to have a bath. Needless to say, after picking Pooka up from Grandma's, this is what we get:
She didn't even make it the whole way home. We poked and prodded her to get her to stay awake, but we admitted defeat. We just put her on the couch and she had a good 30min nap. Then, of course, she was up and demanding dinner. Poor thing was so exhausted that she didn't even make it to 7:00 before she went to sleep. She truly has a blast when she is with her Grandma Gayle.

Tomatoes

I don't know if I can express to anyone how much Pooka loves tomatoes. She has been devouring them like apples ever since she was 9 months old. The first time she did it, we were coming home from the grocery store and I put the bags in the back seat with her. Apparently she was super hungry, because I just happened to glance in my rear view mirror and I saw her gnawing on a half eaten tomato half as big as her head!

Elphan

Pooka would like to introduce you to her elephant, Elphan.
I took this on the car ride home after we found him just after Christmas. Since then, every single visit to Grandma's house includes sitting on Elphan and watching a Little Einsteins or Mickey Mouse. She will just sit there and hug him and cuddle his little tuft of hair. It is super cute.

My Auntie Megen

This is my Auntie Megen. I love her soooo much and I think the feeling is mutual. Every time I get in the car with mama I always ask her, Auntie Megens or Gramamas? I'm happy to go to either place because I always have so much fun!

The Goof

My best friend is my Goofy doll. As you can see he is a great nighttime companion. He scares all the nasty monsters away and keeps me company. Even though he doesn't say anything, he always understands what I tell him, unlike mommy and daddy. Oh well, they will learn pookaeese soon enough! : - )

A Big Welcome!

Welcome to our family blog! Even though it is all about the family, Pooka, of course runs the show. She would like you to know that she hopes you will all enjoy reading all about her adventuresome life. Remember, Pooka loves you!
