What a Hard Life

Today Pooka was a busy busy little bee. While I was at school, Grandma took her shopping. They got groceries and a color book, but there were no crayons there that were ok for Pooka to have. But Grandma had promised her some crayons, so grandmas being grandmas, she went to Michaels just to get her Pooka some crayons. Then they went back to Grandma's house and Pookie was supposed to be sleeping, but instead she held a very lively conversation with her dolls. She jabbered and jabbered, and sang a little too, then started to call for Grandma to come get her. "G'ma? G'ma? G'ma! G'MA!" So Grandma took her outside to play in the dirt, her absolute favorite thing to do. They played and played for over an hour, and by that time, Pooka was so covered in dirt that she had to have a bath. Needless to say, after picking Pooka up from Grandma's, this is what we get:
She didn't even make it the whole way home. We poked and prodded her to get her to stay awake, but we admitted defeat. We just put her on the couch and she had a good 30min nap. Then, of course, she was up and demanding dinner. Poor thing was so exhausted that she didn't even make it to 7:00 before she went to sleep. She truly has a blast when she is with her Grandma Gayle.

That's why they love Grandmas - lots of fun, little to no sleep. That's the way it's supposed to be!

I love it when they get all tuckered out at Grandma's house. Too bad my kidlets aren't close to their Grandparents. Oh well. That's a choice we made and it was the right choice. We do miss our family though.
