Ivy's Glasses Suprise

Ivy and I have this little ritual. Whenever she is getting ready for her nap or to go down for the night, I lay her down, put her blanket on her, and take her glasses off, at which time she giggles and says "I no wear those when I sleeping!" It is super cute, and it helps me remember to take the stinkin things off. I forgot once, just after we first got them, and we were lucky that she snuck out of her room and threw them away instead of doing this to them:

I got home from school today and Ivy was still sleeping at my folks, so I let her sleep for another hour or so. When she finally woke up with an "I'm hungry!" - she had decided not to eat today - I ran in and got her and it took me a minute to realize that I had forgotten to get her glasses. When I asked where my mother had put them, she realized in horror that she had forgotten to take them off of Ivy before nap time. So I ran in there and found the mangled spectacles. I felt so horrible for Mom. She couldn't believe that she had forgotten, but I wasn't worried. That's what insurance is for, right? But we are really lucky to have an amazing optician. She took the front part that cases the lenses, which was mostly undamaged, and added some new ears in like ten minutes. Didn't even charge us anything. Talk about good service!

Oh man! That's got to be rough! I can't stand it when my glasses get crooked for any reason. Glad you have such nice optical folks.
